Shipping Information

Shipping Charges

Domestic Shipping to the 48 contiguous United States will be calculated for all orders. (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico will have additional shipping costs.)  Shipping rates are calculated at $15 for the first $39 in merchandise ordered, $19 for $40 to $50 in merchandise, and $4 for every $20 thereafter.  Our candles are extensively packaged for safe transit, we want our candles to arrive safely, and we know you do too!

Damage

Our domestic orders for candles are shipped via UPS or USPS. We package our candles securely. However, if you discover damage to the candle that has occurred during shipping, please notify us IMMEDIATELY (within 2 days of receipt of your candle). The damaged candle must be kept with its original packaging for the delivery service to pick up and inspect at their discretion. We take great care in packaging our candles for shipment, and damage is an extremely rare occurrence.

Returns

In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with the candle you receive, please contact us within 3 days of receiving your candle either via email [email protected] or by phone (800-238-8467) to make arrangements to return the candle to us for a refund or replacement. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Any candle that has been damaged, burned, or whose wick has been cut is not returnable.

Hot Weather

To prevent heat damage to our candles during shipping, we check the weather at the destination address for each order during the summer months.  If the weather is above 90°F either here in Holland, Michigan, USA (rarely) or at the destination address, we will hold the package and ship when the weather cools off.  This often means a long delay in shipping packages to some parts of the country in the summer months.  We do not want to disappoint anyone by sending a candle when it is too warm for it to arrive without being damaged by the heat, and so far our plan is working beautifully because we very rarely have heat damage since instituting this policy.

Extreme Cold Weather

Our candles and LED’s are also sensitive to extreme cold weather.  For this reason, shipments may be delayed in the winter as well.  Sustained temperatures below freezing can damage our candles and we will use discretion in timing order shipments during cold spells.

Lead Time

Lead time varies according to how many orders are currently being processed. We will not sacrifice quality for quantity so please give us time to get your candle made. As a general rule, candles are shipped within one to seven days after being ordered. (Personalized candles take longer – usually 2-3 weeks.) Please notify us if “Rush” delivery or arrival by a specific date is needed (in comments box) and we will do our best to accommodate. You can also order candles to be held and shipped at a later date. This option is often used for gift-giving occasions such as a Birthday, Anniversary or Christmas. Payment is made at time of order placement. Please order early for Christmas!

*Please note – we may take a hiatus during the months of January, February and/or March.  Candles ordered during these months may not ship until April.  We would add a bold notice to our homepage informing you of this should we decide to take a break.

International Orders

UPDATE – *We have suspended the shipment of international orders at this time due to Covid-19.*

Shipping charges outside the contiguous United States (International orders, Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico) will be considerably more that those listed when ordering.  Once orders to these destinations have been placed, we will email you with the accurate shipping charges to your shipping destination.  You will have the opportunity to accept the increased charges and we will then proceed with your order, or you can decline the charges and we will cancel your order.  Your credit card will not be charged until you respond to our follow up email and you agree to the increased shipping charges. In addition to the increased shipping charges, orders being shipped internationally should expect to pay taxes and import fees upon delivery.
